BSB: Early season update

The 2016 British Superbike championship is only two rounds in but is already shaping up to be another fantastic season of close and unpredictable racing.

There have been four different winners of the races so far with wins coming for Michael Laverty, Peter Hickman, Leon Haslam and Richard Cooper aboard either BMW's or Kawasaki's. Christian Iddon's consistent podium finishing sees him at the top of the championship, a great start for a man who has little experience in the Superbike class. James Ellison and Dan Linfoot have made slow starts and will be looking to climb up the championship table in the upcoming rounds.

One name not amongst the winners circle as yet, but hoping to change that in the next few rounds is Shane Byrne. He has had a steady start to his championship campaign aboard the brand new Ducati Panigale 1299 although he is currently second in the championship. The Ducati is clearly proving challenging to set up, a lack of data for the early rounds meaning they are only likely to get stronger as the season progresses.
