Sykes with a chance?

After a bizzare race at the Nurburgring, last time out which saw both Biaggi and Melandri both drop big points, Tom Sykes has found himself within striking distance of the top of Championship standings, only 27 points down on the leader... One thing is for sure, if we have a another weekend in Portugal like we had in Germany last time out, Britain, Tom Sykes could be leading the championship going into the final round at Magny Cours!

Showdown decided!

The British Superbike 2012 showdown for the final three rounds of the season has now been decided. After the Donington Park races, Tommy Bridewell and Alex Lowes joined Hill, Brookes, Byrne and Laverty to fight it out for the 2012 title.

So who do we think is going to take the championship this year? Reigning champion Tommy Hill has been consistent all year and holds a slender advantage at the top and will be many peoples tip for regaining the title he won in 2011. Kawasaki rider, Shane Byrne has the ability and the experience of winning championships in the past to raise his game when it matters but there will be question marks over whether he has healed from the bad injury he sustained at Cadwell.

While both of these men will undoubtably be up near the front, we believe it may just be Josh Brookes' year. A former runner up in the series, Brookes has really upped his game this year and this has seen more consistent podium finishing aboard his Tyco Suzuki. He has hit top form at the right time and will be difficult to stop as the season draws to a close.
